OUR HISTORY & FACTS

What began as a lifelong fascination with the macabre has grown into a community built around art, film, and the strange. Founder Willy Adkins first channeled his love of horror and the paranormal through Breaking Fate Entertainment, producing films, conventions, and the annual Dark Art and Oddities Con. Over the years, the con became a hub for artists, collectors, and seekers of the unusual, sparking the idea to create a permanent space where that spirit could live year-round.

In 2025, that vision took form with the opening of Mr. Willy’s Dark Art and Oddities in downtown DeKalb, Illinois. The shop blends a gothic curiosity cabinet with a local art gallery, offering oddities, antiques, occult supplies, horror collectibles, and original artwork from both Willy and other creators. More than a store, it is a gathering place for those drawn to the unusual, a home for “Handcrafted Nightmares and Timeless Treasures.”
